Sales Management Training: Avoid This While Interviewing ...

When you were interviewing for your present job, you almost certainly prepared yourself for days, making sure you did your entire research on the position, talked to the few people that understand the job well, maybe have a little bit of history on your boss-to-be.

At the time of the job interview you woke up that early morning, maybe you have practiced your answers to some of the potential job interview questions while you were in the shower room.

Perhaps you made extra sure that you got a good hairstyle was just so and used your best suit as well as shined those beat up Bostonians.

The point is this, whenever you interviewed, you made just about every possible effort to look in the most effective way.

In other words, on that day, except if you were sick, you shown yourself in the best possible approach you knew how. It absolutely was the very best that you had.

At the same time, every time a sales manager is interviewing sales applicants, think about this: what the sales manager sees in front of him is the absolute best that you will ever see of them.

When they don?t amaze you in the interview and then sell yourself on them, chances are slim that they will sell any sales prospect they are introducing your product to.

In the interview you have with them, you are monitoring them at their very best. It doesn?t get any a lot better than this.

Don?t convince yourself that maybe they?ll perform a much better job when they?re out in the field, simply because they won?t.

If anything, they will be worse in their every day sales calls than they were in the interview. Just like you dolled yourself up as best as you can for your current employment interview, they did a similar thing when they interviewed along with you. Everything else will be a high drop off.

You might tell yourself, that several people simply just don?t interview very well right?

No! Not salespeople. If the sales rep can?t sell you or your sales leader in an interview on their greatest day, they can?t sell successfully when they?re not at their best. And let us not kid ourselves, there are many days that a sales rep doesn?t have it all working in your favor.

So do not settle. Don?t make excuses. When the interview candidate is anything less than stellarthen continue to keep looking you and your sales leader is able to do a heck of alot better.
